Alice Soo-a Choe

Consultant

Alice has a background in public health, health equity, and community-engaged research. She is committed to addressing the root cause of structural issues by engaging with communities who are most affected by those issues.

Alice approaches her work with a strong emphasis on data, with skills in qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods. At Equal Measure, she conducts literature reviews, assists in data collection efforts, and develops data visualizations for engagements with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) Supporting Policy Ecosystems to Make Children and Families a Priority (ECOSYS) Initiative, RWJF’s Investing in Mindset Infrastructure Initiative, and The BUILD Health Challenge. Alice also serves as a core team member for projects with PolicyLink and the Gates Foundation. She first joined Equal Measure through the Expanding Access Evaluation Internship, as part of Robin Hood’s Mobility LABs evaluation team.

Before Equal Measure, Alice was a research fellow at Drexel University’s Dornsife School of Public Health. She developed and analyzed surveys that examined the health status and access to health care among migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border. For her master’s thesis, she partnered with the Philadelphia Chinatown Development Corporation, a community-based organization, to create a storytelling campaign that addressed health-related stigma among the local Asian immigrant community. Alice also served as a patient navigator at a community health center in Philadelphia, where she managed the operations of a COVID-19 vaccine clinic and conducted weekly outreach for patients with limited access to resources.
