Carise Mitch

Senior Consultant, Communications

Carise has an extensive background in strategic communications for mission-driven organizations. She is passionate about demystifying complex concepts and making them accessible to a broad range of audiences, and about designing communications campaigns that are data-driven and center community voice, metrics, media, and digital strategies.

At Equal Measure, Carise leads communications and thought leadership strategies on behalf of clients and project teams. She plays a lead role in working with team members on data visualization, thought leadership, and designing and producing issue briefs and reports. Recently, Carise supported the development and dissemination of Mending the Path: The Central Role of Intermediaries in Building Equitable Pathways from Education to Work, a report series from Equal Measure’s multiyear partnership with the community of practice supported by Jobs for the Future (JFF) and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Carise also leads the Communications Task Area for NSF’s Eddie Bernice Johnson INCLUDES National Network, a cross-sector project dedicated to broadening participation in STEM education and careers. Carise has led the development and production of The Measure, Equal Measure’s new podcast series centering conversations on racial equity and place-based systems change.

Prior to joining Equal Measure, Carise served as Director of Communications and Brand Management for Mural Arts Philadelphia, where she led all aspects of communications and marketing for the nation’s largest public art program. She also served as Director of Marketing for DataArts, driving thought leadership and marketing strategies for a national service organization delivering data collection, analysis, and education for the cultural sector. She has held positions with the Camden Coalition of Healthcare Providers and served as a consultant to a range of postsecondary education, environmental, and cultural clients, including Temple University and the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
