Laiyi has a background in data analysis, qualitative research, and program evaluation, with a focus on education policy and social equity and equality. She also has teaching and tutoring experience in the School District of Philadelphia. At Equal Measure, her evaluation work focuses primarily on education, workforce development, and community health.
Laiyi works on several evaluation projects related to postsecondary access and success, and college and career readiness. Her work includes evaluations of the StriveTogether Cradle to Career Network, W.K. Kellogg Foundation’s Family Economic Security Workforce Development Pilot programs, the Goodard Riverside Community Center’s Options-NYCDOE training program, and the Aspen Forum for Community Solutions’ Opportunity Youth Incentive Fund. She also works on several evaluations of Philadelphia-based organizations, including the GSK/The Food Trust’s GetHYPE Philly! initiative, the Philadelphia Youth Network, and the Stoneleigh Foundation.
Prior to joining Equal Measure, Laiyi served as a research analyst for the Netter Center for Community Partnerships at the University of Pennsylvania. In addition, she was a research project team member at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education, and a research assistant with Wharton’s Lauder Institute of Management and International Studies.
